In Memoriam of Retired DPO II James Lewis

Local 685 joins in mourning the death of Retired DPO II James Lewis. DPO II Lewis was a dedicated and loyal member of Local 685 and  prior to his retirement on December 4, 2009, he was assigned to Los Angeles County Regional Sexual Assualt Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Team. This is a collaborative effort by LASD, CDCR-DAPO, LACDA and the Probation Department’s DISARM unit to locate, monitor, investigate and apprehend registered sex offenders who reside within Los Angeles County and educate the public regarding Megan’s Law to protect the residents from becoming victims of sexual assault. Before this assignment, he worked many years with the Community Law Enforcement and Recovery Program (CLEAR) out of LAPD Northeast Division. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family. Please keep his family in your prayers at this most difficult time.
